Washington County Road Closures

Union Hill Road at State Road 79 Intersection Temporarily Closed

Chipley, FL Union Hill Road at the intersection of State Road (S.R.) 79 will be closed beginning the week of March 14 for approximately 60 days for intersection improvements. The following detour routes have been established:

 

North and southbound S.R. 79 traffic wishing to access Union Hill Road will utilize Leavins Road and Pleasant Hill Road.

 

Travelers on Union Hill Road accessing S.R. 79 will utilize Pleasant Hill Road and Leavins Road to intersect with S.R. 79.

 

There will be no traffic impact to S.R. 79.

 

This work is part of a construction project to four-lane 20 miles of S.R. 79 from Mill Branch Bridge in Washington County to south of I-10 in Holmes County.  Motorists are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area, watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through work zones.
